Trip to Illinois

After almost a year, we finally braved the trip to Illinois. The road trip was long and exhausting. Both kids were ready to be out of the car 30 minutes into the drive. We stopped often to stretch our legs, change diapers, run around and eats snacks.

About 5 hours in to the trip, we stopped in a small town outside of St. Louis to rest and catch up with some old friends. Kristen loved seeing Jaden and Jamison. Audrey loved the chance to be out of her carseat and held.

Several hours later, we finally arrived at Mimi and Papa's house. Immediately Audrey turned on the charm. Her grandparents enjoyed seeing all of her many faces in person.

The next morning we got up, ate breakfast with Mimi and Papa and then loaded up to go on another car trip. Thankfully this one wasn't as long.

In Champaign, we were able to visit with Uncle Ben, Aunt Andy. Aunt Erin met us there as well.

After a few hours of visiting, we loaded back into the car and drove to Mimi and Papa's house. The girls had a lot of fun laughing and playing with their relatives.

Kristen especially liked picking green beans with Mimi. (my budding horticulture girl)

Although mom and dad got little to no sleep for the three days due to Audrey's night wakings and Kristen's night terrors, we still enjoyed seeing everyone.

Kristen needs to come to my house next spring and plant, water, pick and sample vegetables with me.
