who will stay awake all night swinging her in her carseat because she refuses to sleep unless he does it.

who will pace the kitchen floor over and over again, holding her because the sound of the flip flops on the linoleum is the only thing that will make her stop screaming.

who will take her somewhere for an hour to give her mother a break.

who will always have time to give her a hug and kiss.

who will show her to rejoice in the Lord always.

who will laugh with her at all the right times.

who teaches her she is important by stopping what he is doing for her.

to teach her about fairness.

so that she will have at least one hero who will not let her down.

to share with her the faith she has not yet acquired.

who will teach her about God's love for her

who will model loving God with his whole heart, mind and soul.

who will read God's Word to her and help her learn about His promises and principles.

to teach her how to pray.

to teach her to be honest in all her dealings.

to teach her patience and kindness.

to help her try again whenever she fails.

to show her that true love is unconditional.

to give her gentle pushes that help her grow.

to hold her as she cries.

to laugh and play with her and show her how to rejoice in the day the Lord has made.

to teach her the meaning of integrity, and how to avoid the crooked path.

to set a moral standard for her.

to teach her to stand up for herself.

to teach her the importance of being a lady.

to teach her the joy of serving others.

so she will know what it is like to be somebody's favorite.

to tell her truthfully that she is the most beautiful of all.

to teach her that forgiving is a natural thing to do.

to teach her how to recognize a gentleman.

to show her the benefits of hard work.

to model for her the commandment, "Love one another."

to teach her to believe that she deserves to be treated well.

because without him she will have less in her life than she deserves.

and, of course to teach her the joy of baseball

Thank you Phil for being a wonderful Daddy to our girls. And for teaching this fatherless girl what a Father's love really looks like. You will never know how much your love for our girls has taught me about my Heavenly Father's love for me. And for making the verse in 1 John, "How great is the love the FATHER has lavished on us, that we could be called CHILDREN of God," come alive to me. Seeing you watch our girls, love our girls, cherish our girls, has taught me how my ABBA Father sees me and loves me. You do all the things listed above so well. Thank you. I love you and am so thankful that you are my husband and partner in parenting.
