The Pet Store

One of our favorite places to visit is the pet store. If it is rainy, cold or we are just plain bored, we hop in our car and visit one of our nearby pet stores.


There are basically two good options. PetCo is HUGE and has lots of gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, turtles, snakes, lizards, and fish. And then our other favorite is a little smaller, but has a monkey !!!


Fish are one of Kristen's favorite animals to watch. Sometimes we go to Walmart just to see them..... walmart is about half the distance and has great fish too.


Kristen knows the name of several birds. Of course, she can identify the mama and daddy Cardinal. But she also recognizes Robins, doves, parakeets and blackbirds.



This is Audrey's second time at the pet store. The dogs kind of frightened her with all the barking. I think she liked the fish ... all the colors and the soothing sound of the water.





At this store, the birds are Kristen's favorite. At Petco, Kristen will spend forever watching the gerbils run in and out of their plastic homes, drink from their water bottles, and run on their wheels. The gerbils just fascinate her and she gets so excited telling me what they are doing. "Momma, look, he's running in his wheel." "Look, momma, he's coming out of his house." So excited and so happy. It makes me want to make more trips to the pet store.

Another big snow (March 28)

Yes, this really happened on March 28!...and then it quickly disappeared the next day with lots of sun and warm sunshine.

Butch the Cardinals-fan Snowman did not last long, but he was fun to build!

We are ready for spring

Come on Spring weather ! Kristen loves playing outside and has cabin fever!!
She misses climbing on the picnic table, writing with chalk, riding her toy car, or just running around the yard.


The weather has teased us with a few nice days and we are ready for the real spring!

Audrey is eating the rice cereal a little better now.



She still makes faces when we give it to her, but at least she isn't spitting it all out.






We have introduced a few veggies, squash, carrots and sweet potatoes. She seems to like the veggies better than the rice cereal. Sometimes we mix a veggie into the cereal.



Audrey is not a fan of the bottle. We have tried three or four different brands, but she rejects them all. But for some reason, she will drink from a sippy cup.
