Last Saturday we took a long trip to a pumpkin patch. As we drove, we passed lots of pretty yellow flowers that the girls loved. Eventually we stopped and let them pick a few.
When Audrey picked her flower, the girls realized there was a grasshopper on it.
At first, she was a little alarmed,
but both girls quickly became enamored with the little creature.
Kristen held it first, and it climbed up her arm,
onto her shoulder and then jumped down.
Audrey tried holding it next, but it quickly jumped down again.
Luckily daddy was fast and caught him again.
Finally the grasshopper let Audrey hold it
But then it jumped down again.
Eventually, the girls let the grasshopper jump away in peace and went back to flower picking.
As we were leaving, Audrey waved at the field and said, "Bye-bye, grasshopper."
